Uttara Joshi

Born and brought up in England, Uttara sings in English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali and Gujarati and specialises in songs from the golden period of Indian cinema (1950s and 60s) has performed for events in the Royal Albert Hall, the House of Lords, the Edinburgh festival, Watermans Theatre and the Nehru Centre with accomplished musicians, including Bollywood filmmaker and music composer Vishal Bhardwaj. She trained in classical Hindustani vocal music and is a sketch and voiceover artist. She is also a classical Kathak dancer trained by Vishnu Priya Pawar and has performed with the Pushpalata Dance Company.
