Indian Music Workshops, Talks and Lessons by Baluji Shrivastav
Baluji has been teaching since a young age and has extensive experience of teaching a wide range of people and age groups. Apart from teaching Indian music Baluji has identified many transferable skills which Indian music has to offer especially in the area of listening skills and improvisation. Baluji is also greatly experienced in teaching musicians with disabilities. Baluji teaches all over the world giving workshops and residential courses. He has written a thesis on Indian music education and shares his knowledge with infants and University professors alike!

Introduction to melody and rhythm and Indian instruments. Bring your instruments along and sing or play a simple composition.

Talk linked to Show:
This is an informal interactive session introducing the instruments with an introduction to the principles of Indian music. If this is for a small group held before the show then participants can touch and hold the instruments. It can take the form of a lecture demonstration for a larger group of people.
Workshops and Master Classes for Musicians:
These are workshops which are more technical in nature and explore the music in greater depth for professional musicians and music students and teachers; orchestras and ensembles from different musical traditions.
One2One:
An intensive class with attention given fully to one student.
Residential Courses:
These are held in beautiful retreats for one week or ten days. They involve supervised practice sessions, practical and theory sessions, improvisation and performance.
