Learn to sing some Indian scales and some simple Indian songs.

Indian Singing Intermediate

Learning the modes and rhythmic cycles for  Hindustani Classical music. Learning a composition with three movements including elements of improvisation.

• Suitable for 13 yrs + 

• Normal Duration day-3 X 2 hr sessions.

• Maximum number of participants in the session 10

 

Indian Singing Advanced

In-depth rendition of a chosen raag in a chosen time cycle.

Suitable for those who have already been studying Hindustani Vocal to an intermediate level.

• Normal Duration 1-3 Days x 2 hr. sessions

Indian Singing for Vocalists

What is Indian singing? Learn to imitate and appreciate Hindustani vocal techniques to extend your vocal abilities.

• Suitable for serious singers.

Sitar

 

Introduction to Sitar

Play some simple exercises on the sitar and learn a scale and how to count the time cycles.

Intermediate & Advanced Sitar

Learn and improve your sitar playing, listening skills, and improvisational

skills. In-depth analysis of technique and musical development.

• Suitable for sitar players.

• Normal Duration 4 hrs.

Talk linked to Show:

This is an informal interactive session introducing the instruments with an introduction to the principles of Indian music. If this is for a small group held before the show then participants can touch and hold the instruments. It can take the form of a lecture demonstration for a larger group of people.

 

Workshops and Master Classes for Musicians:

These are workshops which are more technical in nature and explore the music in greater depth for professional musicians and music students and teachers; orchestras and ensembles from different musical traditions.

 

One2One:

An intensive class with attention given fully to one student.

 

Residential Courses:

These are held in beautiful retreats for one week or ten days. They involve supervised practice sessions, practical and theory sessions, improvisation and performance.
