For the first time ever, the iconic Royal Geographical Society lecture theatre transforms into a trailblazing musical venue as A Taste of Marley takes you on a musical journey that reimagines his timeless songs in an array of genres — from jazz, opera, Indian classical, soul, reggae, lovers rock, and more — showcasing the universal power of his message of unity, love, and resistance.

Hosted by David Neita — The People’s Poet, and in the presence of His Excellency Alexander Williams, High Commissioner of Jamaica, this legendary event celebrates Bob Marley the lyricist, highlighting how his artistry unites people musically, culturally, and spiritually.

Each artist will infuse their unique cultural and creative voice, transforming Bob Marley classics into vibrant reinterpretations — blending soulful saxophone, melodic sitar, and genre-defying arrangements.

Taking place during a month that celebrates Jamaican culture, the event falls on National Rum Day — just ten days after Jamaica’s Independence Day. Come and celebrate with an exceptional lineup of globally celebrated musicians:

• South African Cultural Gospel Choir UK – Gospel-infused interpretations of One Love and Get Up, Stand Up, brought by the choir featured in Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King.

• Black British Classical Foundation – A classical rendition of Redemption Song, arranged by award-winning violinist Àánú Sodipe.

• Shagzy Sax – A saxophone-led fusion of jazz, soul, and Afropop in Natural Mystic.

• Baluji Shrivastav OBE – Indian multi-instrumentalist and world-renowned sitar player, blind since infancy, presents reinterpretations of No Woman, No Cry and Three Little Birds.

• Nubian Queenz – Reggae lovers rock trio with a soulful rendition of Waiting in Vain.

• Lotus Reign – A theatrical “drama pop” performance of Turn Your Lights Down Low.

• Ozimzim Band – Ghanaian highlife ensemble reviving Stir It Up and I Shot the Sheriff.

Proceeds will support the Association of Jamaicans' musical bursary programme in the UK and Jamaica, as well as wider causes and the important work they do in the Caribbean.
